HLLY is a good company

I have had my transmitter for almost 2 years now and i must say that I am extremely satisfied with their 20watt transmitter and pro gp antenna. Yes I freaked out when my order took long but realized after tracking my order that it had been in the USA for about a week stuck at customs. I feared my transmitter was going to be seized but luckily it wasn't. Thanks HLLY for your great products at reasonable prices. Dear friends DO NOT let the HATERS (competition) scare you about alleged bad quality. It is not true. Quality products, just open it up and look at the excellent solder jobs.

I have used the basic 0.5w transmitter from HLLY. In technical terms its very impressive. I found that its's spectrual occupancy is better than the BBC transmitters with no noticeable spillage over 150kHz either side of the centre frequency. This is probably because the audio bandwidth of these transmitters are restricted to a top end of 15kHz limiting the amount of deviation on the FM carrier. However the audio quality is still very impressive with a rich bass and clear treble with negligble degredation. As a preacution I also use a Ramsey FMLP1 low pass filter and have found that any harmonic interference is virtually nil.

As long as you use a good antenna and a low pass filter,as there is every chance that OFCOM may allow you to use this with a RSL license. However you are best to check this them
